American FBI Alumnus Goes Missing in Iran

By Scott Horton

Robert Levinson, a well-known former FBI agent now working as a private investigator, has disappeared on a trip to Iran, according to Robin Wright at the Washington Post. Levinson has for years been deeply involved in corruption investigations relating to Russian organized crime. He handled an important inquiry into the murder of Forbes journalist Paul Klebnikov.

Wright reports that he was visiting the Kish Island free economic zone off the southern coast of Iran when he disappeared.
