Another Rove Aide Resigns in U.S. Attorneys Scandal

By Scott Horton

Yet another senior aide to Karl Rove has resigned in the face of a Congressional subpoena. Sarah M. Taylor, a presidential assistant who works directly under Karl Rove and is widely known as an expert in voting suppression targets directed against minority voters, has “cleared out her office in the White House” and resigned. The moved followed immediately on the heels of a subpoena issued by the Senate Judiciary Committee requiring her appearance and testimony. Taylor was repeatedly fingered by Monica Goodling as a person involved in the purge of U.S. attorneys and in efforts to politicize the prosecution functions at the Justice Department. Raw Story reports:

Taylor is described by Fletcher as skilled in ‘microtargeting,’ the practice of identifying voting constituencies at their most elemental levels. She has also come up as a potential target for a subpoena from the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, as RAW STORY has earlier reported.

The White House political strategist was first identified as playing a role in the removal of US Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas H.E. ‘Bud’ Cummins during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with D. Kyle Sampson, the former Chief of Staff to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
