Omertà, Continued

By Scott Horton

The Seattle public affairs program KCTS Connects conducts an interview with former U.S. Attorney John McKay in which he describes in vivid detail the phone call he received from Michael Elston, chief of staff to Paul J. McNulty. And the words that came to my mind—“like a thug”—are also openly expressed by McKay. Interestingly, McKay phoned his colleague Paul Charlton in Phoenix and learned that he had just gotten the same call and had had the same reaction. This is omertà in action, and the man involved is still holding a very high office in the Department of Justice.
