WSJ: Controversial Russian Tied to Congressional Scandal

By Ken Silverstein

I’ve been writing about Vladimir Petrosyan, an important but little known figure involved in the ex-Congressman Curt Weldon scandal, since late-2006. Today, the Wall Street Journal ran a story which provides new information about this curious Russian businessman.

For years, sources have told me, Petrosyan was a fixture at the bar of the Caucus Room. (I can personally attest to the fact that he was there so frequently that bar staff looked upon him as an old friend, though they were discreet in what they had to say about him.) Petrosyan suddenly left the U.S. in 2006, and his current whereabouts are unknown, but I have heard he’s back in Russia.
