Rove, Yalta, and Contempt of Congress

By Ken Silverstein

Karl Rove does not have the time or inclination to testify before Congress but he did manage to fly off to the Ukraine last week to appear as a panelist at a glitzy international conference. The event was sponsored by Yalta European Strategy (YES), an “international network established to promote the development of a just, free and prosperous Ukraine.” YES’s board includes Viktor Pinchuk, one of the top Ukrainian “oligarchs” and son-in-law of former President Leonid Kuchma (and also a donor to the Clinton Foundation).

Rove appeared on a panel with Democratic consultant Bob Shrum. Click on this link and scroll down for pix of Rove having a fine time even while choosing to ignore a congressional subpoena.
