Harper’s Magazine is seeking a Senior Editor to assign and edit criticism and fiction. The editor will work on every stage of the editing process, from fielding pitches and generating ideas to shepherding edited manuscripts through production. The ability to oversee several pieces in various stages of development at the same time is essential to the role. In addition to working with longtime Harper’s contributors, the editor will be expected to discover and develop new writers. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in editing longform criticism.

The position is full-time and based onsite in New York City.
