The Union of Concerned Scientists released a study that found significant contamination of conventional crops with DNA from genetically modified varieties and warned that new “pharm” crops, which are engineered to produce drugs and other chemicals, are a “serious risk to human health.” Researchers were unable to test for the “pharm” DNA, however, because no such tests currently exist.
