Christopher Ward, the man at the center of the scandal brewing at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), has resigned from Political Compliance Services, the firm announced yesterday. Meanwhile Politico dished more dirt on the story today. Here’s how the story starts:
Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas), a certified public accountant, had pushed for months for an internal audit of the National Republican Congressional Committee, according to GOP members, but the committee’s treasurer at the time was reluctant.

I have come to know the types: the born Nazis, the Nazis whom democracy itself has created, the certain-to-be fellow-travelers. And I also know those who never, under any conceivable circumstances, would become Nazis."
