The Department of Justice was required to reply to the House Judiciary Committee’s document production demand by the close of business on Friday. As anticipated, it did not do so. If it put half the energy into complying with the production demand that it has put into the dissemination of false and misleading public statements about the case, it could, of course, easily have met the deadline. Let’s just rack this up as more evidence of contempt: of Congress, and of justice.
