I just ran an interview with GOP media consultant Tom Edmonds, who thinks McCain still has a shot at winning the election. I had tried to contact a few other Republican consultants, and just got this email from Burke Wood, whose firm produces TV and radio ads for GOP consultants. He was decidedly more downbeat about McCain’s chances:
I think Republicans are toast across the board. McCain’s last hope is that his divided government argument sticks in people’s minds and that swing voters get buyers remorse – since Obama has already won in a lot of people’s minds. That may be why McCain is closing in some polls. The moderate Republicans I talk to liked McCain 8 years ago, but not anymore — and they can’t stand Palin.
